Finally, Nikon is challenging the mirrorless behemoth Sony with its own full-frame mirrorless camera, something that we feel is long overdue from any camera brand (well, other than Leica, which is four times the price so we’ll kindly exclude it).

The top-of-the-line Z7 features a 45.7 megapixel sensor, 9 fps burst, 493 focus points, and an ISO sensitivity range of 64-25,600. Equally impressive, although with a more manageable price tag, the Z6 features a 24.5 megapixel sensor, 273 focus points,12 fps continuous shooting, and an ISO range of 100-51,200.

Both cameras have EXPEED 6 image processors, 4K 30fps video capabilities with fully touch-enabled tilting screens and hybrid autofocus. And with the fully weather-sealed lightweight magnesium alloy body and an entirely new lens system (that will no doubt benefit from the gigantic mount and the shortest flange back distance in any camera) that features a 5-axis optical vibration reduction, we’re curious to see how it will fare in the full-frame mirrorless race, which, up until now, Sony was running solo.
