Michael Jordan is a household name around the globe. He dominated the game of basketball for 15 NBA seasons and is commonly regarded as the greatest of all time. Sotheby’s will auction the Michael Jordan 1998 NBA Finals ‘The Last Dance’ Game Worn Jersey from September 6-14. This is the uniform Jordan wore during the 1998 NBA Finals, also known as Jordan’s ‘The Last Dance’ season. Sotheby’s estimates that this particular jersey could net between $3 and $5 million at auction. That would be the highest price ever for a piece of Jordan-related memorabilia.

The Last Dance remains the most viewed NBA Finals series of all time. In this legendary red “away” jersey, Jordan helped take Game 1 into overtime and scored 33 points en route to his sixth NBA Championship. This exact jersey was featured on the Sports Illustrated cover and a copy of the magazine is included in the auction package. This particular red jersey is so coveted because Jordan wore it during the peak of his popularity — his final season with the Chicago Bulls in 1997 and 1998. Jordan’s finals jerseys are difficult to find and some of the most sought-after sports relics. This iconic red jersey is currently for sale on the Sotheby’s website where the description states it is in excellent condition.
