LEGO has become more sophisticated thanks to a robust fanbase that has let their imaginations run wild and pushed the possibilities of what one can do with these tiny bricks. Even with third party manufacturers bringing their own sensibilities inspired by these interlocking bricks for a more sophisticated audience, it seems like the possibilities of what can be built are endless.
One of the most iconic buildings in film that has been recreated the most by LEGO fans might be the Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters. The iconic firehouse is located in the trendy Tribeca neighborhood in New York City and is still in service to this day. You can see numerous tourists taking pictures in front of the building almost everyday, despite the film being released more than 30 years ago. Although many fan created MOCs (My Own Creation) have attempted to capture the likeness of the building, LEGO officially previews the highly anticipated LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters, a set that will be sure to please children and adults alike. The highly detailed set will feature a laboratory, living quarters, containment unit, and more that we’ve all seen from the films. Included in the set will be nine minifigures as well, while the building itself will be able to accommodate the LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 that was released last year.
Rumors of an official set circulated the LEGO community for a while; finally this highly anticipated LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters will hit stores on January, 2016.
