When life hands you LEGO … well, that might not quite be the saying, but the beloved Danish toymaker definitely had the right idea when they transformed their legendary blocks into an iconic 1980s video game console. The LEGO Atari 2600 Set is an awe-inspiring creation that is sure to thrill the big kids out there who have nostalgic cravings for an entirely different era. This masterpiece replicates the appearance of the original Atari 2600, complete with details like a faux wood front panel and metal switches delivered straight from yesteryear. A slot built into the finished machine can house the cartridges included with the console, including Asteroids, Adventure, and Centipede.

Naturally, there is also an amazingly authentic joystick with that familiar button you will be tempted to jab right away. Push the console forward and out comes a masterfully creative scene straight from your childhood, complete with a little figurine playing Atari while his cat looks on (and, yes, there’s a New Wave poster on the wall and a boombox in the background—LEGO left no detail untouched here). The set includes a whopping 2,532 pieces. It is an impressive and long-awaited feat that is sure to thrill anyone with a hankering to go back in time—or a self-professed obsession with all things brick and video game.
