As a result of its ongoing collaboration with adidas, LEGO has announced the upcoming release of the LEGO adidas Originals Superstar Set, the first-ever brick-built sneaker. Following up on the launch of the LEGO and adidas A-ZX Sneaker released last fall and the LEGO and adidas ZX 8000 ‘Bricks’ Collection last month, the brands have gone a step further by presenting a bold new take on the iconic adidas Superstar silhouette.
Like the real thing, the brick form adidas sneaker features a classic white and black leather construction that is elevated with custom three stripes, shelltoe, and heel tab, which have been carefully crafted to perfectly emulate the LEGO brick pattern. The look is finished off with striking gold foil accents. Once constructed, the 731-piece LEGO adidas Originals Superstar Set measures 4.7-inches high, 10.6-inches long, and 3.5-inches wide. Perfect for displaying, the set comes with a stand and plaque. Builders can decide to build either a right-foot or left-foot sneaker made possible by the 17 extra LEGO elements included in the set. For extra realism, the LEGO adidas Originals Superstar Set even has shoelaces included and it arrives in an authentic adidas shoe box. The set will be released on July 1st.
