Casio has just announced its new limited-edition timepiece, the John Mayer x Hodinkee Casio G-SHOCK Ref. 6900-PT80, a collaboration between Hodinkee and the Grammy award-winning artist. The watch’s nostalgic appeal is an encore to the original DW6900, one of the most iconic G-Shock timepieces for over 25 years. And, according to Hodinkee, the colors on the watch face and text match Casio’s classic mid-’80s keyboard, the PT-80.
The John Mayer x Hodinkee Casio G-SHOCK features an off-white resin case and strap and Hodinkee’s classic red, green, and grey triple graph display. Plus, the company embossed Hodinkee and Mayer’s names on the case back, making the Casio G-Shock G-SHOCK a one-of-a-kind collectible timepiece. Casio’s G-SHOCK Ref. 6900-PT80 is 53.2mm in diameter and 16.3mm thick. It boasts a Japanese-made quartz movement. In addition to being a 24-hour clock, it provides a multi-functional alarm and flash alert. The watch also has a 1/100th stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, and EL backlight with afterglow. G-SHOCK is a sub-brand that has continued to grow since 1983. And the company has always remained true to its vision of durability over all else.
