Jaguar Type 01 Begins a 1,015-HP Reinvention

Jaguar’s four-door electric GT pairs 400 miles of EPA range with 1,015 hp and a shape unlike anything in its old catalog.

Jaguar’s reset is no longer just a manifesto. The Jaguar Type 01 translates the Type 00 concept into a four-door electric grand tourer with 1,015 hp, up to 400 miles of EPA-estimated range, and a claimed 3.1-second sprint to 60 mph.

Its proportions resist the cab-forward look common to EVs: a long hood, low roof, short front overhang, and extended tail sit over standard 23-inch wheels. Flush door handles and a three-stage deployable rear spoiler help the body achieve a 0.23 drag coefficient, while the glassless tailgate and ultra-slim lighting preserve the concept’s theatrical minimalism.

A bespoke 850-volt Jaguar Electric Architecture supports tri-motor all-wheel drive, torque vectoring, rear-wheel steering, air suspension, and active dampers. 350kW rapid charging can add 200 miles in 13 minutes, with a 10-to-80-percent session quoted at 22 minutes.

Inside, a brass-finished spine divides four individual seats, while a 24-inch OLED display folds away above a secondary 7-inch screen. Jaguar layers wool, Kvadrat textiles, and Ultrafabrics through the four-seat cabin.

Type 01 starts at $130,500 in the United States. Orders open in early 2027, with first customer deliveries expected later that year.

Final specifications remain subject to change, but the production car already makes Jaguar’s new direction far more concrete.
