Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’s official trailer has arrived, and it promises to be an action-packed adventure. The long-awaited fifth installment in the Indiana Jones series, created by George Lucas, was showcased at London’s Star Wars Celebration. The teaser trailer and six-minute footage gave fans a glimpse of the film’s story and action sequences.
The trailer reveals that Helena Shaw, Indy’s goddaughter played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is the one to bring the septuagenarian archaeologist, played by Harrison Ford, out of retirement for one last adventure. The film is set in 1969 and follows Indy and Helena’s search for the Dial of Destiny, an ancient device that Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi commander played by Mads Mikkelsen, believes can fix the world’s mistakes.
The trailer is packed with classic Indiana Jones moments, such as tuk-tuk races in Moroccan streets, Jones riding a horse through a New York street parade, and a scene with a giant rolling boulder. The film’s plot features some of the franchise’s classic elements and introduces new characters, including Helena and Voller. Toby Jones plays Basil, Indy’s frenemy who shot him in the past.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is set to arrive in theaters on June 30, 2023. No doubt fans are looking forward to seeing Harrison Ford reprise his iconic role and embark on another adventure that promises to be as exciting as the previous films in the series.
