The Hiroia Hikaru V60 Smart Coffee Brewer is poised to revolutionize the way coffee enthusiasts brew their daily cup of joe. This cutting-edge home pour-over brewer combines striking design with advanced technology, bringing the café experience to the comfort of your home.
Designed by boutique coffee equipment brand Hiroia, a joint venture between Japanese equipment giant Hario and U.S. company Moshi, the V60 Smart Brewer offers a programmable water delivery platform that can brew up to 19.6 fluid ounces of Hario V60 pour-over-style coffee in one go. Unsurprisingly, the Hikaru V60 quickly gained traction on Kickstarter, raising an impressive $241,000 and counting.
This new offering follows Hiroia’s successful launch of the Samantha II brewer, catering to café needs. However, the Hiroia Hikaru V60 Smart Coffee Brewer is tailored for personal and home use, with added safety features like water level detection and safeguards against accidental brewing interruptions.
LED lights encircling the brewing station provide real-time information about the machine’s status, and it comes equipped with a built-in scale and flow meter, offering 10 water flow rates for precision brewing. The Hikaru also offers the convenience of one stored brewing profile for push-button operation, with the option to save nine additional profiles using the app.
While the commercial Samantha II sells for $1,750, the Hikaru is expected to retail at a more affordable $649. Hiroia has more exciting projects in the pipeline, including a brewing scale and a Hiroia grinder, set to follow the Hikaru.
