Having officially launched on January 4th, Gucci celebrates the Chinese Lunar New Year with Gucci Tiger, a wide-ranging selection of ready-to-wear apparel and accessories featuring a variety of interpretations of the jungle feline. Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, has had a long-term fascination with the tiger, as it has been reimagined on the fashion house’s clothing and accessories time and again. This new campaign, featuring actual tigers roaming around the scenes, is a reinterpretation of a late 1960s archival design by Vittorio Accornero, the artist behind Gucci’s signature Flora design. The mixture of the animal motif, beautiful illustrations, and the House’s logo interspersed makes this limited edition Tiger Collection a perfect tribute to the Year of the Tiger.

In the ready-to-wear department, there are a wide variety of choices in form of outerwear, knitwear, jackets, t-shirts, denim, and shirts. Printed, painted, hand-applied or patched crochet lettering and motif is used heavily across the entire collection. Accompanied with the Gucci monogram, the ‘Gucci Tiger’ wording can be seen patched onto both clothing and accessories. Speaking of accessories, included in the collection are several bags including the Tiger GG small duffle bag and the Tiger GG belt bag. Also offered is the Gucci Tiger G-Timeless 38mm watch, along with several different Tiger Men’s Ace sneakers. Keeping with the brand’s sustainability efforts, the packaging comes with the Gucci Tiger print. Paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests, ribbons use 100% organic cotton, handles have 100% recycled polyester, and knotted packaging, so as to avoid the use of glues.
