Luxury fashion house, Balenciaga has just released a capsule collection in celebration of Chinese New Year which, for China’s 2022 zodiac, is the tiger. Also known as the Spring Festival, Chinese New Year comes with many rituals, of which shopping and gift-giving are primary activities. Balenciaga’s Year of the Tiger Collection offers up 57-pieces, many of which embrace the feline energy of the tiger using orange, black and white to ground the collection, in addition to striped patterns and Balenciaga’s classic branding.
Standouts in the collection include a zip-up jacket in orange and black tiger fleece, an allover logo sweater in black and orange cotton knit, a patched sleeves shirt in orange and black vintage jersey, and a padded jacket in light blue soft indigo denim lined with orange and black tiger fleece. In terms of footwear, Balenciaga is offering the Year Of The Tiger runner sneaker in white, orange, and black mesh and nylon, in addition to the brand’s master 20mm low boot in black and orange vegetal calfskin. Among other items accessories include Year Of The Tiger Socks in orange and black furry knit and a cash square folded wallet in orange and black grained calfskin.
