It’s finally here. The first details and images of the Genesis GV80 are out and the first look at the luxury SUV is raising eyebrows. Pictures and a few details about the Korean automotive company’s latest SUV were released on New Year’s Eve and the sneak peek was well worth the wait. There are striped headlamps, a honeycomb grille, and a sporty shape to this medium-sized ride. Beyond its striking appearance, the performance specs and luxurious laden features of its interior epitomize Genesis’ mission to fuse luxury with performance.
The first model of the 2020 Genesis GV80 to be released in the coming year and will reportedly have a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine producing 274 hp. That engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that can fly from 0 to 60 in under 7 seconds.
Inside, the luxury elements of the SUV are especially pronounced. There’s a wide, short infotainment console perched atop the dash. The center console houses oversized climate control buttons, infotainment features, and shift knobs. The steering wheel design includes a unique large middle spoke. The luxury SUV goes on sale in South Korea in January 2020 with an enhanced, turbo-charged model to be released in the following weeks.
