If you’re a fan of Formula 1 you likely have seen a number of slot cars appear during the pre-race festivities. The Formula 1 Slot Car Racetrack itself is a custom-built slot car commissioned specifically by Formula 1 and built by the team at Slot Mods Raceways out of Detroit, Michigan. The mod is a 1:32 replica and it made an appearance at every Formula 1 Grand Prix throughout the 2018 season.
The team at Slot Mods Raceways has built a number of mods for events and companies, including Ford, Toyota, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz. The entire track is hand-built and can cost more than $100,00 to produce. Currently, this mod is up for auction through Sotheby’s and all benefits will be donated to the Reaching the Last Mile Fund. The Last Mile Fund is a joint initiative with the Bill Gates Foundation and was inspired by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
