It seems everyone is getting in on the growing e-bike industry, including sports-bike manufacturers. Italian motorcycle builder Ducati has released the e-Scrambler, a premium electric bicycle. This e-bike is a collaboration launched by Ducati and Thok Ebikes, designed as pedal-assisted trekking bike for city and country roads. According to Ducati, the e-Scrambler is “the same riding experience as a traditional bike thanks to its low center of gravity and the geometry of the frame.” That is probably quite the statement for any Ducati motorcycle owner to take.
The Ducati e-Scrambler’s power comes from a 504 Wh battery supplying juice to a 250-watt Shimano Steps E7000 electric motor with a Sram NX 11-speed transmission, and Sram four-piston brakes. The frame is made of aluminum featuring Ducati grips and saddle, rolling on Pirelli Cycl-e GT tires. Being a Ducati, a complete set of accessories useful for daily riding is included with the e-Scrambler. A luggage rack, mudguards, bike stand, and signal lights are all included. In Europe, the Ducati e-Scrambler is priced at $4,280 (converted from Euros), making it the most affordable two-wheeled motorized machine Ducati.
