The latest edition to its Renew line, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 Hi Upcycled, proves that sometimes all you really need are the essentials. Made from undyed fabric scraps harvested from Converse factory floors, the virgin and organic cotton upper of this take on the Chuck Taylor All Star meets a recycled rubber outsole. This stripped-down hightop looks pristine while fulfilling Converse’s mission to commit to a production cycle that limits waste by manufacturing sustainable designs.

While the material may be unique, these sneakers still capture the iconic Chuck Taylor silhouette. In an effort to convey its emphasis on making the most of doing more with the bare minimum, the sneakers come in a monochromatic Egret colorway. A black heel badge adds some subtle contrast to signify this version of the Chuck Taylor All Star’s place in the Converse Renew line. Other than that, these sneakers offer an aesthetic perfect for the mindful minimalist who finds substance in purpose and not appearance.
