Chattanooga Whiskey recently introduced its Chattanooga Whiskey Bottled In Bond Vintage Series. The company says this Bottled in Bond vintage series is a single-season, vintage-dated Tennessee High Malt style. The Chattanooga Whiskey Bottled In Bond Vintage Series features the distillery’s Spring 2017 vintage, barreled from January through June 2017, and its 2017 Fall vintage, barreled from July through December 2017. Chattanooga Whiskey says they craft each vintage from a selection of high malt bourbon mash bills with at least 25% specialty malted grains. The innovative approach showcases the vintage’s depth and complexity. Chattanooga Whiskey Bottled In Bond Vintage Series, toasted and charred oak Spring 2017 vintage is 100 proof (50% Alc/Vol).
This medium-bodied whiskey has notes of butterscotch, plum, spiced fruit, and wildflower honey, with a wine-like finish. The Bottled In Bond Vintage Series, toasted and charred oak Fall 2017 vintage is 100 proof (50% Alc/Vol). This full-bodied whiskey boasts notes of baking spice, coffee cake, and dark caramel, with a hint of smoke and a robust, velvety finish. The company says that each Bottled in Bond vintage isolates whiskey from either the spring or fall distilling season. Then they use various mash bills to create expressions only possible through a collaborative effort between the distillers. If you happen to be in the Chattanooga area, be sure to check out the distillery which offers tours and tastings for the public.
