World renowned audio company Bose has just entered the smart speaker market. The Bose Smart Speakers (comprised of the Home 500, the Soundbar 500, and the Soundbar 700) combine with an eight-microphone array and Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant, so they’re good at picking up voice.
Let Alexa change songs or turn on music in multiple rooms. Each action delivers the booming, textured sound Bose is known for. The Home 500 features two custom drivers pointing in opposite directions, allowing it to produce one of the widest soundstages around. Meanwhile, its front-facing display shows song titles and album artwork for an altogether artful presentation. The Bose Soundbar 500 is ultra-thin at 2 inches in height, and we’re curious to see how the Bose Soundbar 700, touted by Bose as the best soundbar in the world, will perform.
To add to further innovation, all three speakers will work with Google Assistant and AirPlay 2 by early 2019.
