The official video for Billie Eilish’s single “No Time To Die” was just released to glowing reviews. Eilish, only 18 years old, is the youngest artist ever to write and record a 007 theme song. She follows in the footsteps of Bond theme song predecessors Adele and Sam Smith, and it appears that her poignant ballad will carry on the hit-making tradition of the Bond theme song franchise.
The largely black and white video features Eilish singing into a vintage microphone, with clips from No Time To Die playing in the background. Eilish’s original song examines the theme of romantic deception, as illustrated by the scenes from the film which hint at secrets being revealed about Bond’s Spectre love interest, Dr. Madeleine Swann. Eilish was reportedly thrilled to be asked to record the theme song for this the 25th James Bond movie. “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way,” Eilish said. “James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.” The film will be released on November 20th.
