The Rolex Daytona often serves as a canvas for the bespoke timepieces tailor made for the clientele of Artisans de Genève. This time around, the Swiss watchmaker reprises the aesthetic of a by-gone era in the Artisans de Genève Honey Blue Challenge Rolex Daytona. Inspired by the 1970s, this Rolex Daytona was created for a client who wanted a watch reminiscent of that era while working with an intense blue color.
The crown-guard of the Daytona was removed from the case, with a Bakelite bezel taking its place. The sunray finish brought to the dial gives the intensity of its blue backdrop a vibrant radiance that is echoed by the gold hardware. Those design elements make this custom timepiece period-appropriate with the aesthetic evoked by the era it was inspired by. In addition to the gold bracelet, the Swiss artisans behind this reinvisioned Rolex Daytona have also fit it with a navy alligator leather strap to provide an alternative that drives its color scheme home.
