Swedish long-distance bicyclist and intrepid outdoor explorer Fredrika Ek has earned accolades as both European and female “Adventurer of the Year” after completing a 1042-day ride that spanned 51,000 kilometers and took her through 45 different countries. Even more impressive, she accomplished this incredible feat unaccompanied and unassisted… and raised $85,000 for charity in the process.
Her latest solo venture is Around The World In 1000 Days – a book that allows her to tell the tale of her historic trek in her own words. Published in both Swedish and English, this book also features plenty of amazing photographs that Ek snapped to document each stage of her journey. Taking you from the middle of the desert to the top of the mountain peak, Around The World In 1000 Days not only charts Ek’s voyage over national borders, but through the “boundaries of pain.”
