Apple’s ‘Let Loose’ Event saw the launch of two major upgrades to the brand’s iconic iPad Pro and iPad Air, a new Magic Keyboard, and an all-new device, the Apple Pencil Pro. Each edition marks a new phase in Apple’s industry-leading approach to design and performance in a sleek and highly functional form.
The event’s presentation began with the all-new iPad Pro. It is thinner than ever before but with considerably more power. Pushing the limits of what an ultra-thin and lightweight tablet can, it sports a portable 11-inch screen, rising to 13 inches for the larger version. Just 5.1mm in thickness, it features the world’s most advanced display, with 1000 nits of full-screen brightness, exceptional HDR, true tone mode for eye comfort, and adaptive ProMotion.
With Apple’s industry-leading M4 chip, it’s capable of professional rendering performance up to four times faster than Apple’s M2 chip. The new Apple iPad Pro looks set to become an instant game-changer with the inclusion of hardware-accelerated GPU processing, ray tracing, and an AI-powered Neural Engine.
Apple also announced a new Magic Keyboard for the latest iPad Pro models. The Magic Keyboard has been redesigned to be thinner and lighter while maintaining the same floating design. The floating cantilever design smoothly adjusts to multiple viewing angles. A larger glass trackpad expands how you can work with iPadOS and delivers haptic feedback for precision‑based workflows and Multi‑Touch gestures.
Two colors of the Magic Keyboard match the new iPad Pro are available. New features include a function row with screen brightness controls, an aluminum palm rest, and a larger trackpad with haptic feedback. Apple claims that working on iPad Pro “feels just like using a MacBook thanks to the trackpad.”
The new iPad Air, announced at the Apple ‘Let Loose’ Event, combines ultra-thin, lightweight design updates with optimal performance and a vibrant, high-resolution display. Available in two sizes, the new Liquid Retina display brings everything from games to 3D image processing tasks to life in vivid, accurate colors.
Incorporating the rapid M2 chip for breakout performance, its combination of Neural Engine programming with a powerful CPU and GPU makes it ideal for processor-intensive tasks on the move. The Apple Pencil Pro, the first of its kind, brings everything together and rounds off the Apple ‘Let Loose’ Event lineup.
Designed to cover everything from note-taking to artistic sketches, the Apple Pencil Pro delivers pixel-perfect performance with low latency and tilt sensitivity. Easily stored on the side of an iPad, it comes with full integration with Find My App if it gets misplaced. All products will be shipped on May 15, 2024, and can be pre-ordered here.
