The New York International Auto Show is coming up faster than police lights in the rear-view mirror. As a result, OEMs are dropping hints, previews, and “leaks” as to what will be unveiled at this year’s show. Hyundai released images of the mid-cycle updates done on the eighth-generation Sonata.
The 2024 Hyundai Sonata adopts a full-width LED light bar at the front, with the main headlights seated in black inserts fading into the overall fascia design, joined together by a wider grille. The results are a mid-size sedan with a large presence. Other styling updates include a new hood with bolder lines. In addition, the updated Hyundai Sonata features a sporty black garnish throughout the bottom of the car. Other stylish updates include a revised trunk lid. Furthermore, the 2024 Sonata N-Line models receive dual exhaust and new 19-inch wheels.
Inside, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata receives a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Both screens are housed in a curved display to simulate one stand-up screen on the dashboard. In addition, the refreshed interior features a new shifter located on the column instead of having a center console gear selector.
Details on the 2024 Hyundai Sonata’s drivetrain will be disclosed at the official unveiling at the Seoul Mobility Show starting March 30 and at the New York International Auto Show starting April 6.
