At the opening of the American Flat Track (AFT) Championship at the Volusia Half-Mile, Indian Motorcycle unveiled its new limited-edition motorcycle. The 2022 Indian FTR Championship Edition is meant to celebrate the brand’s racing team’s five-consecutive wins at the AFT. This new Indian motorcycle is limited to 400 units and is essentially a racing motorcycle for the street.
The 2022 Indian FTR Championship Edition comes loaded with standard race-prepped accessories. Premium components include a seat cowl, front fender, air box covers, and headlight nacelle made from carbon fiber. Moreover, it features ProTaper flat-tracker aluminum handlebars and radially-mounted dual front Brembo disc brakes for optimal performance. Power comes from a 1,203 cc V-twin engine producing 120-hp and 87 lb.-ft of torque mated to a six-speed transmission. The engine sounds and breathes through an Akrapovic exhaust system. The Indian FTR Championship also features fully adjustable front and rear suspension with 18-inch front and 19-inch rear red-spoked wheels and piggyback shocks. Exclusive design cues include a red-painted bike frame and championship commemorative bezel mounted on the gas tank.
Standard equipment on the limited-edition India FTR Championship Edition includes Lean Angle Sensitive Stability Control, cruise control, and ABS. Information is projected on a 4.3-inch touchscreen and features three ride modes (rain, standard, sport). Only 400 Indian FTR Championship Edition motorcycles will be built and are currently available for the global market.
