BMW has released the new 2022 M4 Competition Convertible sporting its new look that the manufacturer first unveiled in the Fall of 2020. This high-performance convertible produces 503-horsepower and 479 lb.-ft of torque from a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine. An eight-speed automatic sends power to a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system. BMW designed this drive system to only send power to the front wheels when it needs traction, so the M4 Competition behaves like a rear-wheel-drive variant. When the power is unleashed, the 2022 BMW M4 Competition Convertible will do zero to 60 mph in 3.6-seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. However, customers who opt for the M Driver Package will get access to a higher top speed of 174 mph.
Everything on the M4 Competition is built for speed, including its convertible top. It will travel at 31 mph while folding flat in 18 seconds. The BMW M4 Competition wears a new panel bow convertible soft-top designed to improve thermal comfort and noise reduction. This new soft-top is also 40 percent lighter than the outgoing model. It features a flush-fitted glass rear window and is offered in two color options. Other exterior highlights include aerodynamic mirror caps, a rear diffuser, and aggressively styled bumpers. The car rolls on lightweight alloy wheels that cover six-piston brakes or optional M Carbon ceramic brakes featuring gold-painted calipers.
Most of the interior carries over from the M4 coupe. Sitting inside the BMW M4 Competition, you’ll see a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient lighting, and aluminum trim. The sound of wind in your hair can be drowned out using the car’s Harman-Kardon audio system. The 2022 BMW M4 Competition Convertible arrives in October 2021.
