As part of the Bronco lineup, the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is a crossover-SUV variant with off-road capabilities similar to its bigger siblings. The 2021 Bronco Sport is a crossover SUV that lives up to the name’s sport-utility part featuring MOLLY straps and zipper seatback pockets in the interior, and a built-in bottle opener fitted to the tailgate. Optional features include a slide-out table and washable rubber flooring for outdoor lifestyles. Ford plans on offering five different equipment packages for the Bronco Sport, some of which feature 29-inch off-road tires.
The interior includes an eight-inch touch screen and Co-Pilot360 suite of driver assistance systems as standard, including safety features like blind-spot detection, collision warning, and automated emergency braking. Bronco Sport buyers can choose from two engine options. The entry-level 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo EcoBoost making 181 horsepower or the off-road prepared 2.0-liter EcoBoost producing 245 horsepower, matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Ford tested the Bronco Sport in the same off-road obstacles as the Bronco 2-door and 4-door giving it a best-in-class ground clearance of 8.8-inches and trail-ready suspension. Buyers can pre-order a 2021 Bronco Sport for a refundable $100 refundable fee. It’s set to arrive in dealerships at the end of 2020.
