Based on the car that dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the late 1960s, the modern Ford GT served as an exceptional blank canvas for the incredible Merkury 4. Leading Ford designer Camilo Pardo took a mint-condition red 2005 Ford GT with 4,000 miles on the odometer and gave it a chemically bonded Mirrachrome paint job that took over a year to complete. This silvery grey paint job is dramatically accented by a fluorescent orange Gulf livery and a satin black racing number.
Under the hood, Pardo was able to increase the original GT engine’s total output to 725 rear wheel horsepower thanks to the addition of a second generation Whipple Supercharger and a GTG cold air intake kit. Other upgrades on the Merkury 4 include a ceramic-coated Ford racing exhaust, a custom “Ford GT” billet fuel door, side clamshell vents, and a billet clamshell center.
