Quick, name the two most adorable motor vehicles you can think of. If you didn’t come up with a VW Beetle and dune buggy, you may want to rethink your answer. As a matter of fact, the buggy actually got its name from the Beetle’s “Bug” nickname because early dune buggies were commonly built on Beetle chassis.

Recently debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, the Volkswagen ID Buggy Concept was built from the ground up by Volkswagen designers to off-road. Behold its 9.4-inch ground clearance, reinforced windshield, rear roll bar, and 18-inch alloy wheels with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires.

Better yet, this extremely Beetlesque open roadster is entirely electric. Powered by a 62-kilowatt lithium-ion battery, it produces 201 horsepower and 228 foot-pounds of torque, enabling it to go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just over 7 seconds and achieve a limited top speed of 99 miles per hour.
