For those unfamiliar with Vipp’s unique approach to hoteling, it’s remarkably similar to Airbnb, except all the rooms – venues, really – are owned by the Danish home furnisher-cum-hotelier. Each is a one-of-a-kind architectural archetype that’s been outfitted with luxe Vipp furnishings.

Situated in a 13th-century Brescia palazzo, Vipp’s Monti pop-up is the 7th entry in this decentralized hotel concept. The twist? Reservations are only being accepted for April 18th to May 18th, 2023 (as if Vipp’s accommodations weren’t already exclusive enough).

Vipp bills the three-room suite as a liveable installation in which a broad array of art exhibitions are showcased within the palazzo. Indeed, guests will wake up beneath a fresco-adorned ceiling in their bedroom each morning and share communal space with a trio of artists following Palazzo Monti’s residency program. Espresso-fueled chats about Palazzo Monti’s numerous stunning frescoes are all but assured. Once the artists return to their studies, guests can explore Brescia’s UNESCO heritage sites and taverns for further inspiration.

The dramatic artwork and structural elements within Palazzo Monti contrast sharply with the Danish minimalism offered by Vipp’s furnishings, but of course, the whole thing works anyway, thanks to interior designer Julie Cloos Mølsgaard’s synergistic vision. “The interior scheme unveils a sophisticated dialogue between new and old,” Mølsgaard said. “Historic ornamentation becomes a complementing contrast to the industrial design heritage of Vipp.” Prices and availability are available upon request.
