Danish design company Vipp is taking its first foray into the outdoor furniture category with its new Open-Air Collection. The range includes a dining table, chair, sofa, two lounge tables, and a lounge chair, all designed for use in the great outdoors.
The pieces are modeled on Vipp’s indoor furniture, with recognizable shapes and details but also feature new materials such as polyrattan, teak, and outdoor-friendly textiles. The upholstery is made in 100% Ten Stars yarn woven in Italy’s Lombardy region. One of the standout pieces is the Vipp 711 Open-Air Chair, which features a solid grey-coated aluminum frame with rounded edges, polyrattan-covered armrests, and a padded backrest. The Open-Air Lounge Chair is also a highlight, with its light grey coating and removable, washable cushions made from Ten Stars yarn.
The collection also includes two coffee tables, one with an aluminum frame and a solid ceramic top, and the other with a larger teak lamella tabletop covering a three-legged aluminum frame. Vipp’s Open-Air Table measures eight feet in length and has an aluminum frame supporting a ceramic tabletop. The 3-seater Open-Air Sofa is made with quick-dry cushions and a specially curated outdoor fabric to ensure durability in all outdoor conditions.
All pieces in the collection are designed to resist outdoor conditions by preventing rust and miscoloring, and the sofa is also available with a left- or right-oriented open end with an integrated side table in teak lamellas. Vipp’s Open-Air collection combines the company’s material mastery and ingenious engineering with flora, fauna, and open skies, injecting a dose of fresh air into the brand’s design philosophy honed over 80 years.
