One of the joys of a great sci-fi film is it’s ability to transport the audience into an immersive and never before seen world for the duration of the film. Among a long list of great sci-fi films, visionary director Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element has stood the test of time with a rich and detailed world, compelling characters, and an engaging plot, quickly becoming sci-fi classic since its 1997 release.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets follows in it’s footsteps, with director Luc Besson once again transporting us into a visually stunning sci-fi action advenyure based on the acclaimed visual novel Valérian and Laureline.
The second trailer gives us a more detailed look at the film — starring Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan — that follows a couple of special agents out to save the galaxy. Filled with stunning visuals that will surely satisfy sci-fi fans, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will hit theaters this July.
