The new James Brand Kline knife features a lot of firsts for the Portland, Oregon-based tool maker. It’s the company’s first knife designed, machined, and assembled in the USA. It’s also the first to feature the U.S.-made MagnaCut super steel engineered by Larrin Thomas.
The most impressive feature of the Kline is its MagnaCut blade. This unique blend of high-carbon steel and alloy provides the corrosion resistance of stainless steel and the extreme durability of high-carbon variations. The James Brand Kline is the first knife in the TJB line to feature MagnaCut, but we doubt it’ll be the last.
James Brand describes the Kline as a workhorse for its toughness, 3.5-inch MagnaCut blade, and ability to perform most tasks well. It’s an ambidextrous knife with a reversible and removable pocket clip and James Brand’s Slide-Lock mechanism. A lanyard hole at the tail end of the Kline serves as another security measure to ensure the knife never goes missing.
The Kline is available now on The James Brand website for a surprisingly affordable price, given its unique engineering. Even more, U.S. consumers can feel good about buying a knife made from start to finish in the USA. The knife is available in a choice of Black + Stainless, Black + Black, or OD Green Micarta + Stainless.
