When Shinola went into business in 2013, many people questioned why anyone would want to build a watch factory in Detroit. A company that places an exceptional value on American-made products, Shinola wondered why a wise company wouldn’t want to capitalize on the incredible tradition of manufacturing know-how in the Motor City.
Over the years, Shinola brought its commitment to quality and craftsmanship to an ever-expanding product line that includes jewelry, leather accessories, bicycles, journals, electronics, and electronic accessories. Following a long line of continuously diversifying product portfolio, the company’s latest release is the Canfield Over-Ear Headphones.
Built by hand, these exceptional headphones emit sound that is so clean that you’ll hear elements of your favorite music that you’ve never heard before. Driven by a custom 50-millimeter dynamic transducer, each pair of Canfield Over-Ear Headphones are acoustically tuned and quality tested by Shinola sound engineers in the company’s Detroit headquarters.
To create the Canfield Over-Ear Headphones, Shinola uses the same durable Top Grain leather and stainless steel components that have already made it a widely respected watchmaker. These headphones are built to keep working long after competing headphones have broken down.
Shinola uses leather in its Canfield Over-Ear Headphones where other manufactures simply don’t. This includes two shades of leather that wrap around the unit’s cushioned headband. For extra comfort, the unit’s ear pads are encased in interchangeable memory foam and lambskin.
