Two prestigious names in the world of high-performance driving have collaborated on sculpting an exclusive driving simulator rig. British motorsport company and CALLUM engineering design studio created the Prodrive Racing Simulator worthy of being the centerpiece of a room.
The Prodrive Racing Simulator’s construction consists of an external structure from 16 layers of wood finished with gloss black lacquer. Inside, users sit in a Cobra Nogaro Street seat housed in a carbon monocoque. The simulator’s hardware is a custom PC using a 12GB GeForce RTX graphics card and 16Gb of DDRAM. The system comes preloaded with Assetto Corsa. Images are projected on a curved, 49-inch AOC AG493UCX2 monitor with 5K resolution. Drivers use a Prodrive-branded Precision Sim LM-Pro steering wheel attached to a Simucube 2 Pro direct drive base. In addition, the Prodrive Racing Simulator includes electronically adjustable pedals and a set of Bowers and Wilkins PX7 headphones.
Those who order one of these driving rigs will be invited to tour the facilities at Prodrive’s headquarters in Banbury, Oxfordshire. In addition, Prodrive handles the installation of the driving rig in the customer’s home. These details hint at the cost of the Prodrive Racing Simulator, which rivals most MSRPs for a well-equipped mid-size SUV. The price for training like a racer from the comfort of your living room.
