In celebration of the upcoming GP Ice Race in January 2023 in Austria, Constantin Klein, GP team lead, and Ferdi Porsche, nephew of Porsche founder, have paired to develop a timepiece based on the original Chronograph I designed in 1972. With the same classic lines blended seamlessly with innovative technological advancements, the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – GP 2023 Edition is a signature piece any watch collector would be thrilled to own. Honing in on traditional cues from the original watch design, the new Chronograph 1 – GP 2023 Edition features contrasting white styling for the second, minute, and hour hands set against a matte black dial. Built to last, the watch face is protected with anti-glare sapphire crystal, making it scratch resistant and durable.
The watch is powered by a caliber WERK 01.240 featuring a flyback function. A quick-change date display also features a bilingual day display. Small attention to detail defines this watch, like the original Porsche logo on the caseback and a laser engraved GP signet showing a Yeti on a tractor. The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – GP 2023 Edition watch has two different straps. A textile strap allows the watch to function as a sports watch, perfect for skiing, while a black leather strap helps create a classic style.
