Few camera brands encapsulate the authenticity of the retro photography experience quite like Polaroid. Its instant film cameras were iconic devices throughout the 1970s, printing photos on the move and eliminating the need to pay and wait for film development.
The new Polaroid Now Generation 2—Eames Edition, a collaboration with Earnes, captures the essence of the classic Polaroid camera. Designers Charles and Ray Eames were responsible for the 1972 communication campaign for the SX-70 camera, a key model in the brand’s early success and an iconic design known by all photography lovers.
Presented in the classic Elephant Hide Gray fiberglass color, the Polaroid Now Generation 2 – Eames Edition functions as a traditional instant camera. It features a self-timer and double exposure modes to enhance its creative potential. There’s also an impressive 2-lens autofocus system constructed from 40% recycled materials, and the camera is fully compatible with Polaroid i-Type & 600 Film in the original, full-size Polaroid Instant Film format.
The Polaroid Now Generation 2 – Eames Edition also comes with a handy wrist strap for ease of carrying, representing another nod to the classic and incorporating the inimitable Earnes Toy’s geometric pattern for an additional nostalgic touch.
Photographers can pick up the Polaroid Now Generation 2 – Eames Edition individually, and the brand also offers a bundled alternative for a more comprehensive package that’s ready to shoot instantly. The bundle includes the camera, as well as a roll of Color I-Type Film and a yellow Polaroid photo box.
