Inspired by the Italian special forces, watchmaker Panerai has announced the upcoming release of the Submersible Forze Speciali Experience. Panerai packed this watch with features suitable for extreme missions or everyday use. However, the camouflage and green colorway implies it is for the former. In fact, the Panerai Experience Edition comes with an invitation extended to each buyer to participate in a series of exercises with Italian Special Forces, putting the timepiece to the test.
The Panerai Submersible Forze Speciali Experience is part of a 50-piece edition, adding exclusivity to this already alluring piece. It features a 47mm titanium case and ceramic rotating bezels. The unconventional “time to Target” countdown chronograph uses two hands to record elapsed minutes and seconds. The user sets the chronograph with the button at 4 o’clock and starts/stops it using the button at 10 o’clock.
Featuring hour markers made from dots of Super-LumiNova, the military-inspired dial includes chronographs positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock, with each designed, appropriately enough, in the shape of a target. Powered by Panerai’s in-house P.9100/R automatic mechanical movement beating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), the Experience Edition boasts an impressive three-day power reserve. The watch can track mission times on dry land or underwater as deep as 300 meters.
