To mark its birthday on June 1, Oris unveiled the Oris Full Steel Hölstein Edition 2022, capturing the spirit of the 1990s when the Full Steel, with its groundbreaking mechanical movement, was released. This modern remake of the Full Steel World Timer and its groundbreaking mechanics commemorates the company’s 118th birthday. The Full Steel World Timer was the first watch to use plus and minus pushers to adjust the local time in one-hour increments and the date adjusted accordingly past midnight. The Oris Full Steel Hölstein Edition 2022 is a combination of a steel sports watch and a world timer. A sub-dial at 3 o’clock shows local time and pushers that flank the lower lug allow primary hour adjustment.
The Full Steel Hölstein Edition 2022 features a multi-piece 36.5mm stainless steel case and dial with blue subdials and Superluminova coated numbers, hands, and indicators. The closed case back boasts an engraving of the iconic Oris bear. Oris Co-CEO Rolf Studer says the Full Steel World Timer design is a personal favorite that he believes is much underrated. Studer says that until the Calibre 110 design in 2014, the Calibre 690 was the company’s most complicated movement. The new design follows form and function with a mechanical design that embodies Oris Hölstein’s brand values. The Oris Full Steel Hölstein Edition 2022 is a limited edition of 250 pieces, available online only on the company website.
