From The Mind Of Jordan Peele: ‘NOPE’

The first trailer from Jordan Peele’s new film has arrived.

Jordan Peele, known for his film and television work in the comedy and horror genres, rose to fame for his hit film Get Out, released in 2017. Now, Universal Pictures has released a trailer for Peele’s new upcoming horror movie, Nope, which premiered during yesterday’s Super Bowl. Dubbed “a new terror from the mind of Academy Award winner, Jordan Peele”, as we watch the trailer, we can certainly imagine that this new film will be both compelling and terrifying, but we only come away guessing what it will be about.

This first trailer for Nope introduces Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) and Keke Palmer’s (Hustlers, Alice) two cattle ranching characters who spend their days working with horses on a farm while dreaming of making it big as professional horse handlers for film productions. Just when it seems as if the pair might be on the verge of a big break, an “uncanny and chilling discovery” descends upon the residents of their lonely gulch in inland California, and things begin to go sideways. A quick shot of what appears to be a UFO leads us to imagine the story being about aliens landing on earth? Or, perhaps that’s not it at all. In any case, this trailer certainly succeeds in setting up Nope as being an expansive horror epic and we can’t wait until it’s released on July 22nd.
