Nike had announced the soon-to-be-released Air Max 90 Moscow, a nod to the Air Max, which was the first Nike sneaker that found popularity in Russia. The shoe celebrates the Russian capital, Moscow, in every detail. In a nod to the dynamism of the city, the words “speed” and “city,” written in Cyrillic, can be found on the sides of each heel and on the sock liners. While the sneaker is a monochromatic grey overall—a reference to the Moscow winter climate—hints of color pop out on the Nike logo, heel, and tongue seams.
The uppers of the shoe are constructed with reflective luxurious leather and suede, paying homage to the modernistic skyline of Moscow, with its skyscrapers and new prosperity. Of course, the signature Nike Air level is embedded in the heel. Sure to become a collector’s item for cultural enthusiasts, the Nike Air Max 90 Moscow will be available starting November 14th.
