Welcome To The Chaos: ‘Moon Knight’ Official Trailer

“Embrace the chaos”

Disney+ and Marvel welcome Moon Knight to the MCU with the release of its official trailer for the original six-part series set to stream on Disney+. The two-minute trailer gives us a fast-paced look into the world of Marc Spector, a former Marine and CIA agent who is one of the lesser-known characters in Marvel Comics, having first appeared in 1975. Spector, played by actor Oscar Isaac, is marked at a young age by the Egyptian moon-god Khonshu to be the god’s avatar on Earth. Having forged a psychic connection with the human Marc, the resulting catastrophic effect on the young man’s mental health is apparent in the trailer.

In both the original comics and the new small-screen adaptation, Spector struggles with keeping track of which of his identities is in control but eventually learns that each of his dueling personalities has a respective strength. His four distinct identities in the comics include a billionaire businessman named Steven Grant, a taxi driver named Jake Lockley, a suited consultant named Mr. Knight, and a little red-haired girl simply called Inner Child. With his skills and expertise in fighting, Moon Knight is a lot like Batman, battling villains and crime. The trailer also introduces the new series’ villain, Dr. Arthur Harrow – played by Ethan Hawke – a Nobel Prize nominee-turned-cult-leader. Moon Knight will premiere on March 30th as the first Marvel series of 2022.
