Metric Honduras La Comunión is a washed coffee that is grown in the Santa Barbara region of Honduras at an elevation between 5,000 to 5,400 feet above sea level. The Metric Honduras La Comunión blend is made up of Paraneima, Catuai, and Bourbon, along with a mix of about 70% washed coffees with 30% honey pacas to really give it a sweet, clean, and vibrant taste that people have been clamoring for.
The coffee is the product of a unique partnership between Metric Coffee and Beneficio San Vicente, a family-run dry milling and exporter who is every bit as passionate about his products as his customers are. The result was La Comunión, a project which focuses Metric’s efforts on three of their producing partners — Alma Pineda, Dionisio Rivera, and Cecilio Aguilar — which gives Metric the ability to purchase the producers’ coffee crops in their entirety while also ensuring a minimum price paid to the producers. Over the last few years, Honduras, in particular, has been hit by more than their fair share of hurricanes and major storms, and every bag of Metric Honduras La Comunión sold online will see $1 donated to relief efforts for Honduran coffee growers.
