It is thought that the screwdriver was invented sometime during the Middle Ages, and is a tool that has not seen a lot of changes over the centuries since. However, an exciting new Kickstarter project that has recently gained a lot of traction is attempting to bring a modern twist (no pun intended!) to this timeless tool. The MetMo Driver is billed as the world’s most satisfying screwdriver to use. It combines elements of the hand braces that were used to get extra torque out of a screwdriver before electric drills and modern ratchet screwdrivers were invented. The result is a one-of-a-kind screwdriver that is both highly functional as well as a lot of fun to use.
In fact, MetMo markets the MetMo Driver as being part screwdriver and part fidget spinner toy thanks to a number of satisfying moving parts that make this tool a real joy to fidget and tinker with. While a screwdriver probably is not the first thing that comes to mind when people think of interesting desk toys, the Driver’s distinctive design makes it just as much fun to toy with aimlessly as it is to actually use. At the time of this writing, the MetMo Driver Kickstarter project has raised over $1.2 million, ensuring that the company will have more than enough funds to bring this unique and interesting tool to market, which is expected to be available in November of this year.
