This fall, Maserati is bringing a new, compact, and competitive SUV to the North American sports SUV market. Details about a special edition variant of the new Maserati Grecale are circulating the internet before its official debut. This first edition model is called the Maserati Grecale PrimaSerie and is limited to only 325 units. However, this sporty Italian family vehicle offers plenty of reasons for its exclusivity.
The Grecale PrimaSerie is based on the top-tier Trofeo trim level. As a result, the SUV packs a turbocharged Nettuno V6 developing 523-hp and 457 lb.-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic sends the power to a four-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip rear differential. According to Maserati, the Grecale PrimaSerie can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.6-seconds before reaching a top speed of 177 mph.
The PrimaSeria edition Maserati Grecale models are painted in Giallo Corse and matched with 21-inch Crio wheels with red Brembo brake calipers. Inside, passengers are treated to black leather with contrasting yellow stitching. Accents include carbon fiber trim and brushed stainless steel pedals. In addition, factory options include a heated steering wheel, heated/ventilated front seats, and a 21-speaker Sonus audio system.
Details on the standard Maserati Grecale mention a 325-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter engine for entry-level models. In addition to color options like Bianco Astro Metallic, Blu Nobile, and Grigio Cangiante. Interior color options include red and white leather upholstery. Maserati will announce the pricing and availability of the new Grecale PrimaSerie closer to its debut in fall 2022.
