Hailing from the skiing mecca of Oregon’s Mt. Hood region, Eric Pollard has been skiing professionally for more than 15 years. He has also designed several different snow ski models for the Seattle-based equipment manufacturer Line Skis.
Pollard’s latest Line release is the Sakana Directional Ski, a 105mm-waisted and swallowtail-tipped ski with a medium to surfy flex index that is build to tackle some seriously deep snow. The unique swallowtail shape of the Sakana can accommodate a range of turn shapes, while its Carbon Flax Tape edge produces extra hold no matter the conditions or terrain.
An artist and filmmaker as well as a skier, Pollard values beauty as much as function. The Line x Eric Pollard Sakana Directional Ski is shaped using striking l5-Cut Geometry and features high-contrast artwork that cleverly juxtaposes natural and tribal patterns with scientific readouts and symbols.
