Kindred Motorworks: Classic Car Ownership Made Easy

Kindred Motorworks aims to remove the worry and hassle from vintage car ownership.

The biggest barrier to classic car ownership is often the hassle of actually putting one back together. The upcoming Kindred Motorworks launch capitalizes on this conundrum: the company’s proprietary Blueprint technology eliminates the inconsistent results typical of DIY restorations, instead producing true-to-style classics that can serve as reliable daily drivers.

Classic cars often come with unique quirks from their era. Some spark nostalgia, others … not so much. Kindred swaps the latter for modern conveniences like touchscreens and automatic transmission (purists need not worry – this change is optional). Powertrains, tuning, and safety features are all modernized by default, and environmentally conscious buyers can opt for an EV version of each model in Kindred’s lineup. The Kindred VW Bus will be the first to get this treatment, with the Kindred Bronco and Camaro not far behind.

The Kindred 3100 pickup – based on the classic Chevy truck of the same name – is the last new model in the pipe for 2022. The company teases more to come in 2023, but each new vehicle reportedly goes through 10,000 hours of prototyping, testing, and design, so how that translates to production remains to be seen. Starting August 19, interested parties can pretend to consider the Kindred VW Bus or Bronco before pre-ordering the Camaro on kindredmotorworks.com.
