Classic car auctions are big news for automobile lovers, presenting a rare chance to invest in the history of engineering and design and own an iconic rarity. The upcoming JOOPITER ‘Joyride’ Auction, alongside Morton Street Partners, looks set to appeal to collectors of new and traditional cars, with a series of eleven classic and custom vehicles up for auction under the title ‘Joyride.’
Featuring cars in the collections of Scarr Pimentel, Phil Toledano, Devon Turnbull, and Michael Strahan, the ‘Joyride’ Auction includes a range of standout automobiles that reflect the rich and innovative history of manufacturers such as Lancia, Nissan, Mercedez-Benz, Ferrari, BMW, and Porsche. Up for auction by a select group of New York-based collectors, the collection celebrates art and design that combines a modern approach to traditional engineering.
Turnbull’s contributions to the JOOPITER ‘Joyride’ Auction include a 1993 Mercedes-Benz Ojas G-Wagon Overland Truck, estimated to fetch up to $250,000, and a Mitsubishi Fuso Canter 4×4 Camper Teahouse Truck. The latter is complete with Ojas speakers designed by Turnbull and is also expected to sell for upward of $200,000. Turnbull’s 2008 BMW 328i, adorned with Scharf’s classic artwork, is expected to earn more.
Additional cars in the auction include a 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello, a 1990 Lancia Delta Integrale “Bastarda,” a 1999 Mercedes E55 AMG, and a 1993 Porsche 968 Club Sport, each of which showcases the skill and innovation of its respective manufacturer.
The JOOPITER ‘Joyride’ Auction will be open for bidding from May 1st to May 8th and will take place at Morton Partners’ New York showroom. The cars will be available to view by appointment.
