Paying homage to one of the most popular Universal Pictures’ franchises of all time, Fast & Furious, Jacob & Co will release its Fast & Furious Twin Turbo to coincide with the premiere of the motion picture, F9, on June 25th. The new timepiece is based on Jacob & Co’s Twin Turbo watch, which features twin triple-axis tourbillon mechanisms, a decimal minute repeater, and a pit board time calculator. All of which are powered by an 832-component JCFM05 manual wound movement that is exclusive to Jacob & Co.
The overall design of the Fast & Furious timepiece is inspired by and references various aspects of the film. For example, the face includes a starting line from the first film released in 2001 and the franchise’s logo is featured above Dom’s 1970 Dodge Charger and Brian’s Toyota Supra that are set to face off. Benjamin Arabov, Jacob & Co. CEO believes the collaborative effort will be extremely well-received.
Set in a black carbon case measuring a hefty 57mm by 52mm and fitted with a stainless steel bezel, the name of the watch, “Fast & Furious Twin Turbo,” is etched onto the sapphire caseback. The watch is the first in the Twin Turbo line to use titanium, which is known for its lightweight properties and is matched here with a carbon case. Neoralithe, an innovative, transparent material, is used for the first time for the inner red ring of the bezel. Only 9 pieces of the Jacob & Co Fast & Furious Twin Turbo will be available to purchase starting on June 25th.
