If life is truly a journey then you’ll be arriving in style in a new Hyundai Kona. This latest offering from Hyundai is designed to be a quirky and speedy compact SUV, equipped with a host of tech touches to cater to the Instagram generation.
Featuring a bold exterior to catch the eye of upbeat urban dwellers, the Kona has a twin-head lamp setup paired with its patented cascading grille and plastic body cladding. The Kona comes in a range of vivid color options that match the get-up and go of its turbocharged 1.0 and 1.4-liter range.
The Kona’s inside is just as flirty and fun as the outside. The vehicle mimics the interior style of Hyundai’s previous models in the Ioniq and the i30, with a touch screen display placed prominently over the air vents. This time around, Hyundai deftly included both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in the Kona’s infotainment system. This matches the standard tech elements of the SUV’s rear-view camera, HD radio, and 4G telematics.
The Kona also breaks ground with the first in its segment smartphone wireless charger, offering cable-free convenience with your phone. The Head-Up display is another innovative touch, projecting all types of information onto the windshield to prevent any distractions associated with fiddling with interior buttons and screens.
The Kona manages to be both safe and fun, with Lane Keeping Assist, High Beam Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision and Blind-Spot Collision warning technology along with the HUD, a screen that pops out of the dashboard to give current speed notifications, satellite navigation information, and other safety settings.
