A round smartwatch can look convincingly analog until its battery gives up before dinner. The Google Pixel Watch 5 addresses that familiar indignity with longer endurance, a much brighter display, and off-grid emergency features tucked into the same pebble-like case.

The watch returns in 41mm and 45mm sizes, both 12.3mm thick, with an aluminum body and domed Gorilla Glass 5. Its LTPO OLED now varies from 1–60Hz and peaks at 3,000 nits, improving legibility without turning the design into a wrist-mounted billboard.

Wear OS 7, 64GB of storage, Bluetooth 6, dual-frequency GPS, UWB, and optional LTE broaden the platform established by the previous Pixel wearable.

The Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 works alongside a Cortex M55 coprocessor. Battery life reaches 30 hours with the always-on display on the 41mm model and 40 hours on the 45mm; saver modes extend those figures to 48 and 72 hours. Satellite SOS adds emergency messaging beyond cellular coverage, while 5ATM water resistance and an IP68 rating suit daily training. Google’s watch bands remain interchangeable, preserving a useful element of continuity.

Preorders are open, with general availability August 20. The 41mm Pixel Watch 5 starts at $399.99, and the 45mm model starts at $429. A Stephen Curry edition follows September 3 for $579.
