Android has never lacked Bluetooth trackers, but it has lacked one built as a native part of Google’s hardware ecosystem. The Google Pixel Tag closes that gap with precision finding, a replaceable battery, and a price that directly challenges the established field.

The slim stainless steel tag uses both Ultra-Wideband and Bluetooth Channel Sounding to provide visual distance and directional cues on compatible Android phones.

When an item moves beyond local range, Google’s Find Hub can draw on more than one billion Android devices while keeping location information end-to-end encrypted. A built-in speaker helps with nearby searches, while a physical button can ring a misplaced phone in reverse.

Pixel Tag carries an IP67 rating and runs for up to one year on a user-replaceable battery. Fast Pair handles setup with Android 9 or newer, and a tag can be shared with as many as 10 people. It also works through Pixel Watch, while Pixel Buds can call on Gemini to make the tag sound. That degree of integration gives the tracker a clearer role beside the latest Pixel hardware than a generic third-party tag.

Google will release Pixel Tag on November 11 for $29 each or $99 for a four-pack through the Google Store.
